Motorbike rider left in critical condition after being run off highway by a truck on Princes Highway near Wellington

Police are seeking witnesses after a motorcyclist was critically injured when forced off the road by a veering truck on the Princes Highway.

Police and emergency services were called to Poltalloch – between Wellington and Meningie – after reports a motorcycle had crashed.

Police are seeking witnesses after a motorbike rider was critically injured after being forced off the road by a veering truck on the Princes Highway on Sunday night.

Police and emergency services were called to Poltalloch – between Wellington and Meningie – after reports a motorcycle had crashed just before 8pm.

The rider of the motorcycle was critically injured in the crash and flown by helicopter to hospital for treatment.

Police say initial investigations into the crash indicate the rider was forced off the road by a truck travelling in the opposite direction.

It is believed the truck veered onto the wrong side of the road, into the wrong lane.

The truck did not stop at the scene.

Police are seeking witnesses to the collision or anyone with dashcam of the truck involved to come forward.
