Intense inferno guts home at Dernancourt in Adelaide’s northeastern suburbs
Firefighters arrived to find thick black smoke pouring into the street from an intense blaze engulfing a suburban home overnight.
A raging house fire in Adelaide’s northeastern suburbs has destroyed a northeastern suburbs home.
Police and emergency services were called to Raphael Ave, Dernancourt just before 8.30pm on Monday night to reports of a house fire and arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames.
An MFS spokesperson said 26 firefighters and six fire trucks battled the blaze and were able to control it within 45 minutes while protecting surrounding homes.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage and investigations are ongoing.
The blaze comes after police launched an investigation into two suspicious fires at Findon on Monday.
About 4.45am on Monday, police and MFS were called to a home on Findon Rd after reports that a brush fence was on fire.
MFS were able to quickly extinguish the blaze but the fence was destroyed.
The remains of a small rubbish fire was located just north of the brush fence fire.
