An Andrews Farm woman has pulled down her Christmas display following the theft of one of her prized decorations.

Tracy Rogers’ 1.7m inflatable Santa, valued at $50, was stolen from her Ponderosa Rd property over the weekend.

The blow-up decoration was one of several on the front porch of her home, which had been on display for two weeks without incident.

The bandit went through quite an effort to take the Santa, having to untie it from a paver and unhook its power cables.

Following the theft, Ms Rogers has taken down her other inflatables, which included a Christmas tree, reindeer and a toy soldier.

“A lot of people will drive past and they’ll say thanks, it’s great, and their kids love it, that’s the disappointing thing for us,” Ms Rogers told The Advertiser.

Ms Rogers called on the callous thief to show some Christmas Spirit and said she hoped they had “the decency to return it”.

The inflatables will be put back out again on Christmas Eve for the neighbourhood to enjoy, but until then she does not want to “risk any getting flogged”.

“We’re big on family stuff, and we love the family spirit, you know, letting kids see a good Christmas display,” she said.

“We do it for the young kids that live around here because we can do it and some people can’t afford to do it. We’re lucky enough we can buy extra decorations to put out the front.”

“We love the Christmas lights and all that sort of stuff.”

Ms Rogers took to facebook earlier to vent her frustration at the “a**hole” who stole Santa, while thanking those who complimented her on the display.

“Some ppl (sic) are just scum and ruin other ppls (sic) enjoyment”, she said in her post.

The post generated overwhelming support for Ms Rogers, with many calling the theft “disgusting” and saying how much they loved the decorations.

“So many stop doing displays because of ferals stealing and destroying them”, one comment read.

Another said theft “destroys the Christmas spirit”.
