Heatwave warning for northern South Australia as Adelaide set to hit high 30s for third Ashes Test
A heatwave warning has been for parts of SA on Thursday while Adelaide is set to reach the high 30s for the third Ashes Test.
A heatwave warning has been issued for parts of South Australia on Thursday with parts of the state set to reach more than 40C, while forecasts are for a sweat-fest in Adelaide for the third Ashes Test next week.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe heatwave warning for the North West Pastoral and North East Pastoral weather districts with the APY Lands and Oodnadatta expected to reach maximum temperatures in the low to mid-40s.
Meanwhile, Adelaide is set to hit a maximum of 32C on Thursday while towns across most of the state will hit the low-to-mid 30s.
Adelaide is set for a maximum of 35C on Friday before some weekend relief, with the city poised for 27C on Saturday and just 23C forecast for Sunday.
Another mild day is in store for Monday with a top of 24C in Adelaide before Tuesday climbs to 29C.
The first day of the third Test at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday is set for a top of 34C while the 10-day forecast reveals a predicted top of 38C for Thursday and Friday and 37C for Saturday.
