Police are investigating a series of suspicious spot fires with one spreading to suburban property on Saturday night.
Firefighters were called to a bike track between Sturt Rd and Marion Rd at Mitchell Park just after 10pm on Saturday to find several small spot fires along the track.
One of the fires had spread to the rear fence and shed of property in Karu Cres, police say.
Crime scene investigators are set to return to the track and examine each scene on Sunday morning.
Hours later, police and fire crews responded to reports of a grass fire on Byron Ave at Covelly Park.
Just after 4.30am, fire crews managed to quickly extinguish a fire before it caused any damage but police suspect the fire was also deliberately lit.
Police are calling for anyone who saw any suspicious activity or has any dashcam or CCTV footage that may have picked up any suspicious people in either of the areas to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
It comes after MFS firefighters attended a structure fire on Gleeson St in South Plympton.
At just after. 8.50pm, six fire trucks with 22 firefighters arrived at the scene of a home to find a garage well involved in fire.
The fire spread from the garage into the home causing a particle collapse of the roof.
All occupants were able to evacuate with one taken to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.
Two pet dogs, a pet snake and a frog were saved from the home, but a pet bird perished in the blaze.
Damage was estimated at $300,000.
