Crystalbrook Sam reached new milestone as luxury hotel tops out at 12 storeys
Topping out at 12 storeys, Halifax Street’s luxury new hotel reaches its peak, with its grand opening just around the corner.
A new luxury hotel on Halifax St has reached its peak with the 12-storey building officially topped out on Wednesday.
Developers are now working alongside a team of architects to transition from major structural works to facade installation and detailed interior fit-out.
Crystalbrook Sam will have 196 guest rooms and suites, a lobby with communal spaces, meeting and event spaces, a ground-floor cafe and bar and a rooftop restaurant.
It will also include a luxury bathhouse, Eléme, and day spa alongside a gym, sauna and swimming pool.
Crystalbrook Collection chief executive Geoff York said the topping out brought the opening of Adelaide’s first Crystalbrook “one step closer”.
“Adelaide’s hospitality scene is evolving with enormous energy, and we’re excited to contribute to that momentum with a hotel that brings Crystalbrook’s forward-thinking luxury to the city for the first time,” Mr York said.
Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison said the hotel was important in strengthening Adelaide’s premium accommodation offering.
“South Australia is attracting more interstate and international travellers than ever, and investments like this signal strong confidence in our state,” Ms Bettison said.
The project has created 590 jobs to date, driven by more than 50 trade subcontractors and suppliers engaged by the building group.
Crystalbrook Sam is scheduled to open in late 2026, with further details about its dining, design and guest experience to be announced in due course.
Original planning documents for the hotel in March 2024 were set at 17-storeys but has since been scaled back following feedback from hotel operators and government architects.
