WATCH: CCTV footage of armed robbery in Mackay

AN ALLEGED armed robber described as wearing "great" pants has threatened a bottle shop employee with a firearm, police say.

A spokesman for Queensland Police Media said initial reports from police suggesting the man was wearing "great" pants were the result of a typo, saying instead the pants were grey.

Mackay Detectives are investigating after the Evan Street store was robbed last night.

Police say a man entered the store shortly before 8pm and threatened the staff member with a firearm before fleeing with money.

The female staff member was not injured.

He is described as about 30 years of age, caucasian, a large build, wearing an orange hi-vis shirt and (grey) pants.
