WATCH: Hail storms hit Toowoomba and the Darling Downs
Hail has lashed parts of Queensland's southeast leaving parts of the parched landscape looking like a snowfield, as more storms loom.
SOME of the driest parts of the Darling Downs have been hit by rain and hail today.
There was a large storm cell over Stanthorpe that brought isolated showers to the region.
Weatherzone meteorologist Jacob Cronje said there were also isolated pockets of hail from Toowoomba to the New South Wales border.
"You will see localised, heavy falls across south-east Queensland," he said.
"The best chance of thunder storms will be later this afternoon.
"We should see 10mm across the region with isolated pockets up to 40mm."
The showers are expect to linger until early Saturday morning and potentially into the afternoon.
Saturday will see a top temperature around 19-20 degrees. Sunday will be slightly warmer with a top of 24-25 degrees.
