Three people injured after a two-vehicle crash on the Warrego Highway at Crowley Vale
Three people have been injured in a crash, including one who became stuck in a vehicle on a major highway in the state’s southeast.
The beginning of school holidays for motorists in Queensland’s southeast is off to a rough start, with three people injured in a crash on the Warrego Highway.
Two vehicles travelling eastbound on the Warrego Highway at Crowley Vale collided just before 8.30am.
Queensland Fire Department crews arrived on scene shortly after, where they located one person stuck inside one of the vehicles.
A QFD spokeswoman said crews went into action with hydraulic cutting gear and were able to free the person at around 9.15am, where they were assessed by paramedics.
Queensland Ambulance spokesman said paramedics assessed a female in her 60s with significant chest injuries, an elderly male and a third patient.
The woman in her 60s and third unknown patient were flown via LifeFlight to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.
The elderly male was taken via road to the Ipswich Hospital in a stable condition.
Emergency services closed off the eastbound lanes while fire and rescue crews worked to clean up a small fuel spill.
