SUV stolen from Harristown crashes into tree putting two men in hospital
The young driver suffered critical injuries after he crashed a stolen SUV into a tree.
Two men were hospitalised after they crashed a stolen SUV into a tree.
According to the initial police report a 2024 MG ZS was stolen from a Harristown home about 5.30am on March 5.
At about 9.45am on Thursday the vehicle was travelling east on Mount Glorious Road in Highvale when the driver lost control and hit a tree.
One occupant was trapped in the wreck and required Queensland Fire Department crews to cut him free.
They removed the vehicle’s roof to gain access to the patient.
The driver, a 24-year-old Riverview man, received critical injuries and was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
The passenger, a 24-year-old Wacol man, received minor injuries and was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the crash, along with the theft of a second vehicle from the Harristown home.
