Sex Panther: Orgasmic dessert bar opens on Coast

A new late-night dessert bar has opened in the state's southeast, and it is set to leave you drooling thanks to its orgasmic fudge brownies, while its name might raise a few eyebrows, too.

THERE'S a new late-night dessert bar in town and it is set to leave you drooling with its orgasmic fudge brownies.

Sex Panther — yes, that’s right — pops up at night only, from 7pm, three days a week.

Owners Eldene Blaque and Thea Jorna are personal trainers by day and dessert kings by night.

The sweet aromas of freshly baked hot fudge brownies, ice cream, homemade salted caramel sauce, custard and cookies takes over the space that houses Francis Beach Cafe during the day.

Thea said it was an urge to go on a night out, away from alcohol, that birthed the idea of creating a new dessert bar hosting late-night treats.

“We wanted to go out one night, but we don’t drink and outside of that … there was bowling. We then thought we’d go get dessert, but there was nowhere to go other than to get ice-cream,” she said.

“We saw the opportunity and we took it.”

Aside from the eye-and-ear-catching name, the pair said Sex Panther delivers “good, fresh, simple, real couch comfort food”.

The name came from the cologne in the Will Ferrell movie Anchorman.

“It’s a bit of fun, but we will be changing the name in the near future,” Thea said.

The Alexandra Headland dessert bar also caters for gluten-free and dairy-free dessert lovers.

The business opens Thursday-Saturday from 7pm and offers a home delivery service with a minimum order of $20 and a $5 delivery fee.
