Multiple fire crews called to major house fire at Mayvale near Warwick
Multiple firefighters worked to contain a house fire on a property in the Southern Downs region that was reportedly fully engulfed in flame. Here’s what we know.
A number of fire crews are battled a raging house fire on a rural property outside Warwick.
It took six firefighting crews to contain the blaze which was reportedly under control just after 1pm.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said crews were now working on a number of hotspots around the structure.
The cause is yet to be determined with fire investigators to attend the property later in the afternoon, the QFD spokeswoman said.
It is now understood two people were located in a nearby paddock of the property and are believed to have suffered minor injuries.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the two patients were transported to Warwick Hospital in a stable condition for further observation.
Emergency crews were alerted to the blaze at a property on Whites Rd at Maryvale just before noon on Thursday, a Queensland Police spokeswoman said.
It is understood the property was fully engulfed when fire and rescue crews arrived.
Police advise residents and motorists to avoid the area due to a large amount of smoke.
