Queen Elizabeth: Pictures of the late Queen, Prince Philip during visits to regional Australia

The late Queen Elizabeth II had a strong affinity for rural and regional Australia, with her visits to everywhere from Longreach to Ballarat drawing huge crowds. See the pictures.

Queen Elizabeth II has died, sparking an outpouring of tributes from across the UK, the Commonwealth and the world at large.

The Queen’s royal visits to Australia are a highlight for many, and her presence in regional centres was a huge boon for local populations.

Her famous affinity for horses further cemented her place in the hearts of rural Australians, as did her stoic grace and appreciation for the Great Southern Land.

In honour of her life of service, The Weekly Times has compiled some images of The Queen’s various visits to the Australian bush.
