At the first opportunity, keen buyers looking to secure prime south Cairns house sites have rushed in to register interest in the Far North’s latest land release.

Two separate estates offer 210 fully serviced lots with sizes ranging from 700sq m to 2946sq m at The Heights and at The Terrace, smaller lot sizes offer home ownership at an affordable price.

Udo Jattke of RE/MAX Cairns was at a family event and barbecue on site at the launch on Saturday.

He said pent up demand meant buyers were getting in quickly to secure blocks.

“People have put holds on blocks straight away,” he said.

“(Some of) the lots here are all 600 and 700sq m, they have 20m frontages like the old days.

“And that’s the difference and that’s what I am excited about more than anything, but there are still the smaller ones.

“We will be doing first home seminars to get them into a home and get them on to savings plans.”

The former Glenwood Homes owner said he was determined to offload all lots in an accelerated two-year time frame.

At the launch, Value Homes design consultant Robert Birchall said the company aimed to lock in up to 30 new builds with Sugarworld Estate buyers.

“Once they put down a deposit on the land or reserve their interest we have a look at that block and come up with a house design that suits that block and we help them work along that process,” he said.

The Affinity Designer Homes sister company built about 55 homes in Cairns last year and has been in business 29 years.

Hayley McKean from Value Homes hoped the new release would offer an opportunity to many that had missed out on blocks at previous land releases at Mt Peter and Bluewater.

“Giving them the opportunity to get access to more blocks with bigger sizes is going to be great,” she said.
