REMOVALISTS were kept busy with beachfront mid-rises after 27 new households moved into more than $50m worth of luxury apartments at two key southern Gold Coast developments in June.

Fifteen sales worth $25.7m settled in the Mali Residences at Mermaid Beach, while another 12 settlements worth $28.4m went through for Palm Beach project Siarn.

The apartments at 460 The Esplanade, all registered as 224 sqm or 225 sqm, sold for between $2.03m and $2.98m – the price paid for the top-floor unit.

Siarn developer Cru Collective’s managing director Chris Bolger and partner Teek Ireland liked the project so much they, through a company they direct, bought one of the apartments for themselves for $2.2m.

The couple will enjoy an expansive indoor and outdoor “lifestyle retreat” for residents featuring an oceanfront pool, pedestrian beach access, private outdoor shower, fully equipped indoor fitness centre and infra-red sauna.

Cru’s company Tupack was still the listed owner of the remaining five apartments last week.

The developer didn’t waste any time moving on to the next project, filing plans for an “uber-exclusive” 12-storey tower at Kirra.

Earmarked for a site at the intersection of Musgrave and Winston streets, the unnamed tower will feature 11 full-floor units overlooking Kirra Beach.

North to Mermaid Beach’s Alexandra Ave, the 52-apartment, 17-floor Mali Residences settled 15 transactions between $1.045m and $1.99m during June.

The project was developed by Daniel Vietch’s Dankav and built by Hutchinson Builders.

Another of Mr Vietch’s companies has also been gathering a collection of properties nearby on the Gold Coast Highway and Lavarack Rd at Nobby Beach, including properties currently tenanted by a butcher, clothing store, gelato shop, fresh food store and two cafes.

The Nobbys have been bought through a company of which Daniel is the sole director but is fully owned by wife Katina via another company.

The land is set to front later stages of the Gold Coast light rail.
