Listing agent Billy Gartner said there had been strong interest in the property from a range of potential buyers.
“I am negotiating with a few people at the moment and one of the buyers from Melbourne is flying up here tomorrow,” he said.
“We are negotiating but no contracts have been signed yet.”
For 50 years the 85-year-old owner enjoyed living at his own piece of waterfront paradise but now is unable to maintain property.
Mr Gartner said more than $4m had been spent improving the unique property set on 2.75ha in a tightly held rural area at the foot of the Gillies Range.
“It is an interesting property and there are not too many quite like it,” he said.
Until a few years ago the Catch A Barra business welcomed anglers from all over the world keen to land the iconic species and the business provided a lucrative income for the owner.
