Cairns real estate: Lake Tinaroo property on the market for $3.5m
Surrounded on three sides by water, this luxury four-bedroom Far North country home has just hit the market, with a spectacular asking price.
SURROUNDED on three sides by Lake Tinaroo, a luxury four-bedroom home on more than 50ha has just hit the market – with a $3.5m asking price.
The expansive home at 13 Kulara Rd is being sold by Catherine and Rob Doyle, who work in Papua New Guinea and commute, and have decided to downsize and invest at Coolangatta.
Mrs Doyle said although it was time to downsize, she would be sad to leave the property.
“We looked for three years for the right property, and this was it,” she said.
“We’re not getting any younger, but we are not really old just yet either.”

The couple has property in Cairns and will still call the Far North home although they plan to purchase at the Gold Coast to be closer to family and friends some of the time.
“It is a beautiful property, I love it – every day I get up and see the view, and the sunset is spectacular,” Mrs Doyle said.
“It is a fantastic house for entertaining, my friend and I paddleboard out on the lake. We have platypus at the back of the farm.”
The property is currently running 34 steers on agistment.
“We thought about eco-tourism and looked at putting a private campground in down by the lake, you could do that very easily,” she said.

“I love birdwatching here too, the brolgas come over and they cry out as they fly, you can hear them coming – that’s pretty cool.”
Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty agent Barbara Wolveridge said the house had been fully renovated with a modern kitchen.
“There is parking for 12 cars – ideal for a car collector,” she said.
“It would be a great family home for an active family who love water sports as you can kayak sail, paddleboard, or jetski straight from the property.”
She said it was one of few homes with direct lake access.
The home is 430 sqm and created to allow plenty of natural light.
Ms Wolveridge said there were tracks for hiking and four-wheel riding and the property was small enough for a hobby farm and large enough for a working farm.
“There are water panoramas from the indoor and outdoor living areas and the master bedroom suite,” she said.
“One of the most striking views is from the kitchen window across the lawn to Lake Tinaroo.”
It has an infinity swimming pool, outdoor fire pit and organic vegetable garden.
