ANDREW Gee has been pre-selected as The Nationals’ candidate for the federal seat of Calare in NSW.
More than 400 Nationals members from across the electorate cast their vote today, to determine who would replace retiring federal member John Cobb, who announced his retirement from politics in February.
Mr Gee, formerly a barrister in civil litigation and family law, has been the state member for Orange since 2011.
Mr Gee came out on top against the three other candidates — Bathurst’s Sam Farraway, butcher and councillor Scott Munro, also from Orange, and Wellington councillor Alison Conn.
The federal seat of Calare has a long history as a safe Nationals seat, with Mr Cobb holding it since 2007.
