July 29, 12.30pm: NT Police are searching for a man who allegedly chased a woman down a popular running path in Alice Springs while half naked.
Police received reports the woman was allegedly being chased by the man, not known to her, while she was running on a path along the west side of the Todd River about 5.20pm on Tuesday.
It is alleged the offender performed an indecent act while chasing the victim, who was able to run away from him.
The man is described as being Indigenous in appearance, about 40-years-old, about 175cm tall with a slim build, grey hair and a light-grey coloured beard.
He was reported as wearing a long dark jacket with a hood that had a fluffy trim, open-toe fluffy slippers, and was not wearing pants or underwear.
Police responded and are carrying out patrols of the area as investigations to identify and locate the alleged offender are under way.
Police urge anyone with information to contact police on 131 444 and quote reference P25201256.
It comes after a Take Back the Track event was held in Alice Springs last month following a spare of separate alleged incidents of a similar nature in the area.
Four women had been assaulted while out for a run in the area the fortnight prior to the event with the fun run put in place to show solidarity for those women.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested and taken into custody charged with one count of act of gross indecency without consent and three counts of indecent touching or act.
Distinct spray painted Toyota Corolla stolen in Alice Springs
July 29, 7am: NT Police are searching for an old, distinct Toyota Corolla stolen in Alice Springs on Monday night.
Southern Watch Commander Jared Thompson said the vehicle was allegedly taken from a Sadadeen residence about 11pm.
He described the vehicle as a 1991 white Toyota Corolla with a distinct “hot pink spray painted artwork” on the back.
The vintage Corolla’s registration is FAL 779 with Victorian plates.
Commander Thompson said the alleged offenders entered the home without the owner’s knowledge and no one was harmed in the theft.
Police ask anyone who spots the distinct vehicle to contact 131 444.
