Southern Watch Commander Marc Watson said the alleged “sexual predator” approached a 57-year-old woman on Leichhardt Tce about 4.30pm Tuesday.

Sergeant Watson said the man allegedly indecently assaulted her then performed a sexual act in front of her.

He said the woman left the location, and the man allegedly approached a 61-year-old female on the same street 10 minutes later.

Sergeant Watson alleged the man exposed himself to the woman while making sexual advances.

He said the woman fled the scene.

Sergeant Watson said the man allegedly approached a 44-year-old woman on Gregory Tce.

He alleged the man indecently assaulted her before he was pushed away.

Sergeant Watson said each woman was “understandably distressed and extremely angered” by the incidents.

He said there was “no place for a sexual predator like this in the community” and the man was arrested at 5.23pm.

Sergeant Watson said the man was charged with three counts of indecent assault, had been refused bail, and would front the Alice Springs Local Court on Wednesday.

Sergeant Watson said general duties and Strike Force Viper members attended the scene and arrested the man in one of the victim’s backyards.

He alleged the man was also found in possession of some stolen property.

Sergeant Watson said the man was in police custody while investigations continued, and he expected the man would be charged with a range of property offences on Tuesday.

Man allegedly stabbed in chest by partner

Southern Watch Commander Marc Watson said Hermannsburg police were alerted to the alleged domestic violence incident about 5am Sunday.

Sergeant Watson said the 49-year-old man sought treatment at the local clinic before he was taken to Alice Springs Hospital in a serious but stable condition by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

He said his partner – a 52-year-old woman – was arrested and charged in relation to the alleged attack.
