NT Police investigate death of man at Alice Springs Hospital
Officers have launched an investigation into the death of a man at Alice Springs Hospital on behalf of the coroner.
An investigation has been launched by NT Police into the death of a man at Alice Springs Hospital after officers responded to an incident at the health facility last week.
Around 1.05pm on Tuesday, May 20, officers were called out to reports of an injured man at the Territory hospital.
The man later died from his injuries.
Police said they were now investigating the incident on behalf of the coroner.
“Around 1.05pm, May 20, 2025, police responded to reports of an injured male at the Alice Springs Hospital,” a NT Police spokesperson said.
“The male later succumbed to his injuries. Police are investigating on behalf of the coroner.”
NT Health said staff impacted by the incident at the hospital had been offered counselling.
“NT Health prioritises staff wellbeing and is committed to providing a safe and supportive working environment,” a spokesperson for NT Health said.
“Staff who may be affected by the incident have been provided with access to a professional counsellor on site.
“NT Health is unable to provide further comment on matters under investigation by NT Police.”
