Usher cancels Australian Past Present Future tour: How to get a refund

The hip-hop star has cancelled his Australian leg of his Past, Present, Future tour. Here’s how you can get a refund.

Usher fans have been left devastated after the hip-hop artist cancelled the Australian leg of his tour.

The ‘Confessions Part II’ hitmaker was expected to bring his Past, Present, Future tour to Melbourne and Sydney in November and December.

Tour promoter Live Nation said Usher’s 12 shows would no longer be going ahead.

“We regret to advise USHER’s Australian tour, scheduled to take place in November/ December, will no longer be proceeding,” the statement from Live Nation read.

Ticketek conveyed the same message to ticket holders on Friday.

Live Nation has since removed Usher’s Australian tour page from its website, with users presented with a ‘404’ error message.

The shock decision comes just weeks after tickets to the shows at Rod Laver Arena and Qudos Bank Arena went on sale.

The setlist from the tour, which has travelled across the US, Europe and the UK, featured close to 50 of the best hits from his 30-year career including ‘Yeah!’ and U Got It Bad’.

The eight-time Grammy award-winning singer, 46, last toured Australia in 2011.

When Usher initially announced he was bringing to Melbourne and Sydney he said: “I can’t wait to bring this tour to Australia, a place where I hope to retire in the future. See you soon!”

HOW USHER TICKET HOLDERS CAN GET A REFUND

Ticket holders do not have to do anything as they will receive an “automatic refund”.

“All purchased tickets will receive a full refund,” an email from Ticketek read.

“Tickets will be automatically refunded in full (including refundable ticket purchase, if relevant) to the original payment method used for purchase and patrons do not need to take any action.”

Aussie ticket holders were warned to allowed about 30 business days for the refund to appear in their account.

Ticketek asked people “please do not contact Ticketek regarding your refund”.
