Tina Arena has shared an emotional Christmas message after she was forced to cancel the Australian leg of her Love Saves world tour due to a mystery illness.
The much-loved Aussie singer, 56, alluded to her health issues as she posted a video of herself decorating a sparkling Christmas tree on Instagram.
In the clip, Arena thanked her fans for their support, admitting that her health “wasn’t great”.
“Just wanted to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas. It’s been an interesting year, lots going on,” she said.
“Health wasn’t great, but it’s getting much better, so I want to thank you all for your beautiful messages,” Arena said.
“I’ve read everything, tried to answer as much as I can possibly answer. I’m getting much better, but I hope all of you are doing well.
“It’s tough with stuff that’s going on in the world today, but I hope everyone finds some peace and joy this Christmas.
“I’m sending you lots and lots of love. I’ll see you next year.”
In October, Arena revealed after performing in Sydney and Perth that she would be postponing her remaining Australian shows due to illness.
Her scheduled performance in London on November 24 was also axed.
It was the first time in her lengthy career that she has ever cancelled a show.
Arena shared a black and white photo of her band behind the scenes when she revealed the news on Instagram two months ago.
“Hi everyone, for the very first time, I have to postpone the rest of my Australian shows,” she wrote.
“Believe me when I say, it was a hard decision. But remember, health always comes first. Therefore, to ensure it won’t happen again … here we are.
“Please hold on to your tickets, there will be more information soon. I wish you all the very best, and my sincere apologies for any inconveniences.”
Arena has been in show business for decades, famously starting out in the TV show Young Talent Time as a regular cast member in 1976.
