‘Out of touch’: Aussie model Brooke Hogan criticised for ‘tone deaf’ ad
Former Australia’s Next Top Model star Brooke Hogan is copping backlash following a recent airline advertisement with followers criticising her for being “out of touch”.
Former Australia’s Next Top Model star Brooke Hogan is copping heat and being labelled “out of touch” after sharing a paid partnership with an airline company.
The influencer who has more than 619K Instagram followers, recently promoted flying business class with Emirates. But instead of sparking travel envy, the glossy post has drawn criticism for being “tone-deaf” given the cost of living crisis.
Hogan went through blow-by-blow the many benefits of flying business, among them the “keepsake toys and handy baby packs for younger children”.
“The minute you get on the flight, each and every staff member goes out of their way to ensure you are well looked after,” she wrote on Instagram, wearing the flight Captain’s hat.
“The service we received was next level which made us feel like we were already on holiday before we even arrived at our destination. Everyone was so kind and made extra effort to make sure we were comfortable.”
French champagne, luxe amenities and a flat bed, were among the “7 honest things no one tells you about flying” business class on the airline.
One user commented: “I’m afraid I now will unfollow since we are worlds apart, this ad may have influenced thousands of your followers to book but it can’t be me”
“Looks so nice, dreamy and out of touch,” another wrote.
A third added: “I mean you gotta get that bag girl, but this is a tough one to post and not cop some negative commentary”.
The criticism didn’t stop there.
“Glad you had a great experience, but everyone knows what business class looks like. It’s definitely a case of ‘how do you know someone flew business class? Don’t worry, they’ll tell you’,” one user wrote.
Others chimed in with “such relatable content”, “must be nice” and
“meanwhile the rest of the world has normal jobs and will never be able to afford this”.
Hogan has not responded to the comments and has been contacted by Confidential.
Known for her lifestyle and family content, Hogan is the founder of fashion and swimwear brand Le Mon, as well as online pilates platform Our Pilates.
