A woman missing for more than a week has been found alive but suffering a suspected snake bite in NSW’s Snowy Mountains region.

A woman missing for over a week has been found alive with a suspected snake bite following a wide-scale search in NSW’s Snowy Mountains region.

Lovisa ‘Kiki’ Sjoberg, 48, was found alive shortly before 5pm on Sunday on the Nungar Creek Trail at Kiandra.

She was last seen driving a grey Mitsubishi Outlander into Kosciuszko National Park on October 15, before she was reported missing to police six days later when she failed to return her rental car.

Police said the photographer was known to frequent the Kiandra area and national parks around the Snowy Mountains. She was last seen and spoken to on October 8.

Alarm bells were raised when she failed to return the Mitsubishi Outlander to a hire car company before October 21.

When she could not be located or contacted, officers immediately began inquiries into her whereabouts and launched a search of the area.

“The wide-scale search involved officers attached to Monaro Police District with assistance from the Mounted Unit, Dog Unit, SES, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Rural Fire Service and a Surf Life Saving Helicopter. Members of the public also assisted,” police said in a statement on Sunday.

A National Parks and Wildlife official found Ms Sjoberg on the trial at 4.50pm on Sunday, before she was treated immediately at the scene for exposure and a suspected snake bite.

She was taken to Cooma District Hospital in a stable condition.
