Dutton condemns booing during dawn service Welcome to Country

A veteran at a Dawn Service marred by booing says it is an insult to have to be welcomed to his own country while Peter Dutton has been cheered then booed after resisting crowd chants to do a ‘shoey’.

It comes as the crowd at the War Memorial where Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was for Anzac Day have clashed.

Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles and Mr Dutton both lashed the “deplorable” act in Melbourne, where a known neo-Nazi shouted abuse before being spoken to by police.
