Liberals must grow a spine after predictable federal election loss

Let the Liberals be Liberals again — because the mewling Guilty Party of self-haters is finished if it doesn’t get off its knees.

Peter Dutton tipped as next Liberal leader

This was so predictable.

Scott Morrison’s pathetic Liberals got smashed by telling the world they were the Guilty Party.

Guilty on the “climate emergency”.

Guilty of being mean to women.

Guilty on “reconciliation”.

Who’d vote for such a mewling pack of self-haters with so little self-respect that they won’t even sack a party traitor like Malcolm Turnbull?

Thank God this election wipe-out has taken out many of their worst grovellers.

Please, Peter Dutton, take over, and make the Liberals stop apologising for not being more like Labor.

Let the Liberals be Liberals again.

But still I see some of the more clueless Liberal survivors crawl from the wreckage and whimper that they’ve got to swing even more to the Left.

Have these clowns learned nothing?

If the Liberals don’t grow a spine and get off their knees, they are finished.

Take the Liberals’ insane line on global warming.

Suddenly they were telling us – oops – global warming really is a terrible threat.

So they’d been wrong to play it down.

And, yes, tiny Australia can help stop these floods and fires and lower the world’s temperature.

So they’d been wrong not to promise “net zero” emissions by 2050 until now.

Already voters are thinking, what?! For years, you Liberals stood in the way of saving us from climate disasters that you’re now suggesting could kill all our kids, and you still want us to vote for you?

But get this: even now, the Liberals still promised to do less than the Greens, Labor and climate “independents” to save us from what they now claimed was a huge threat.

Guilty, but still not sorry enough.

How often have you seen this same self-destructive shtick from the Liberals?

Oh, yes, they said, we have a women problem – but we won’t impose quotas.

Oh, yes, we should go along with this new racial division and an Aboriginal “voice” to parliament – but we won’t put it in the constitution.

Oh, yes, we shouldn’t let our religious freedom bill offend transgender lobbyists – but we won’t legislate to guarantee that.

Again and again, giving in to a Labor agenda, but still dragging the chain. Never instead saying a big Liberal yes to judging people as individuals. Never a big Liberal yes to freedom. And never a big Liberal yes to reason and a cost-benefit analysis of this global warming hysteria.

It’s insane to think the Liberals could get away with this hypocritical cant. Now some of the loudest preachers have paid the price.

Look at the Liberals beaten by climate hysterics funded by billionaire’s son Simon Holmes a Court: Trent Zimmerman, who vowed to push the Liberals to set even tougher emissions targets; Tim Wilson, Assistant Minister Emissions Reduction; Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, a former Environment Minister; Jason Falinski, who told the Liberals it was “the easiest thing in the world” to toughen their emissions targets; Dave Sharma, who demanded “we take action now”.

Meanwhile, Labor took out Tesla-driving Katie Allen, who’d insisted “action on climate” was “an environmental imperative”.

All now gone, voted out by voters who believed them when they said the Liberals should do more on global warming, but who correctly worked out that “more” was what other parties were promising.

True, the Liberals face a hell of a battle if they now decide to stop crawling and stand for their values. Stand for facts. Stand for reality above this climate madness.

They’ll have the mob and the media against them, but will have truth on their side, and fewer many Liberal Leftists left in inner city seats wanting to sell out to the Left.

They might also take heart from the Nationals, who – unlike the Liberals – intelligently questioned the global warming scare and fake “solutions”, yet did not lose a single seat.

Memo to the Liberals: You can’t win an argument if you’re too scared to put it. And three years from now, voters will be more inclined to hear it.

By then, they’ll probably feel the pain of the useless global warming plans of Labor and its radical Greens partners. We’ll probably be short of electricity as more coal-fired power stations are forced shut. Electricity prices will soar, adding to growing inflation.

Maybe then, voters in poorer voters in Labor marginal seats will realise green dreams come at a terrible price.

The times could then suit the Liberals, but only if this Guilty Party stops crawling and stands for something.

Like reason over scares. Individuals over tribes. Reality over dreams. Courage over cowardice.
