Daily Telegraph Bush Summit 2021 highlights

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and community leaders will meet in the heart of the nation’s food bowl this month to discuss the opportunities and struggles in the bush.

Mr Albanese will be the keynote speaker at the fourth annual Daily Telegraph Bush Summit, to be held in Griffith in southern NSW on August 26. The summit is supported by The Weekly Times.

Mr Albanese said he was looking forward to attending the summit to “talk about the issues that matter to regional NSW and the opportunities that we can create together under the government I lead.”

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet will also attend the summit, where a range of issues including food supply chains, jobs, energy, regional development, services and infrastructure will be discussed.

Daily Telegraph editor Ben English said “in just four years, the Bush Summit has become a compulsory event on the calendar for anyone with a stake in rural and regional Australia”.

“We are very proud that the bush summit has brought about lasting and profound reforms that have bettered the lives of people in the country,” he said.

Mr English said he was “especially excited” to be holding the 2022 Summit in Griffith, in the “heart of the nation’s food bowl”.

“The timing couldn’t be better as city residents grow increasingly aware of the critical role the bus plays to all our welfare,” he said.
