Legendary country artist Troy Cassar-Daley is set to headline this year’s Desert Harmony Festival, bringing his sounds and storytelling to Tennant Creek.
The theme of the 2025 festival is Mappu Apikarni Wilyarra-kka Payinti Wanjjal Warnaparrta (We Come Together to Celebrate Today, Yesterday, and Tomorrow).
Cassar-Daley has won a number of ARIA and Golden Guitar Awards throughout his colourful three-decade career.
The beloved country artist said he hoped to bring a sense of cultural connection to Tennant Creek through his performance.
“My early days of touring brought me to this country in 1990 with the late Brian Young,” he said.
“We had many nights at road houses playing shows on the Stuart Highway leading up to Tennant Creek and beyond – the landscape up that way is beautiful and soul stirring.
“My music has always spoken about unity in our communities, and I believe the Desert Harmony festival shares this sentiment strongly.
“I’m very proud to be asked to play for the whole community and be a part of bringing everyone out that way together.”
Beyond live music, the festival will feature a dynamic program of performances, workshops, visual arts and cultural experiences that aim to honour the region’s history.
The full program of the event — which will be held from August 1-4 — is set to be announced in late April.
Most recently on April 5, Cassar-Daley performed a free gig at the Alice Springs Desert Park as part of Parrtjima in Alice Springs.
