A newly engaged man who spent nearly a month fighting for life in a Brisbane hospital after being hit by a car in Toowoomba on New Year’s Eve has died from his injuries. LATEST.
A newly engaged father who was hit by a car on a quiet cul-de-sac south of Toowoomba has died from his injuries on Friday night.
He was taken to Toowoomba Hospital before being flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane where he remained until his death on Friday night.
Police allege that shortly before 9pm on December 31, a white single cab HiLux was travelling along Windermere Drive when it hit Mr Saad.
They further allege the driver of the vehicle immediately left the scene, but the vehicle was later found at a separate location.
No arrests have been made as of Saturday morning and investigations are ongoing.
Nearby residents previously told The Chronicle they heard vehicles revving around the time of the incident, before hearing sirens.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to contact them immediately.
