Schwarzenegger slams ‘stupid liars’ who put economy over climate

Arnold Schwarzenegger says anyone who can’t save jobs and the planet at the same time doesn’t have the “balls” to figure it out.

Arnold Schwarzenegger said world leaders putting jobs over green energy don’t have the “balls” to fight climate change.

While not naming any particular country, Schwarzenegger made the thinly-veiled insults ahead of the COP26 UN climate change summit in Glasgow, Scotland.

“They are liars, they are stupid. Or they don’t know how to do it, because we figured how to do it and it’s all about having the balls to do it,” told BBC Radio 4

The former governor of California has spent his post-political career speaking out against freedom in his campaign to fight global crises like climate change and the Covid-19 pandemic.

“All of these countries that come and give speeches, ‘We are not going to go and lose jobs because of going green,’ and all this other stuff, they’re liars or they’re just stupid and they don’t know how to do it,” Schwarzenegger added.

While Schwarzenegger didn’t name names in the BBC’s COP26 climate series, famed environmentalist Sir David Attenborough was not as restrained. He told the outlet “some people in Australia” were more concerned with saving jobs than saving the planet.

Arriving in Europe ahead of the summit, Prime Minister said he would not be pressured into banning fossil fuels like coal.

“Our policy is very clear – we’re not engaged in those sorts of mandates and bans,“ he said.

The Terminator actor previously attempted to make environmentalism “sexy” and “hip”, saying in 2013 that instead of using “doom and gloom” the movement should be more welcoming.

More than a decade later, Schwarzenegger has shifted to the same tactics used to shame anyone who doesn’t wear a face masks during the Covid pandemic.

“Screw your freedom,” said Schwarzenegger earlier this year. “Yeah you have the freedom to wear no mask, but you know something, you’re a schmuck for not wearing a mask because you’re supposed to protect your fellow members around you, it’s just that simple,” he added.

Schwarzenegger continued the increasing pressure campaign against political opposition ahead of the COP26 climate summit, saying that “evil global capitalism” was destructive of the environment.

“You can have global capitalism but you have to be smart about it. You can have the best [economy] in the world, but if people are dead, they’re dead, it’s over,” Schwarzenegger said.

“Buy local products. Every time you buy something from overseas, that is evil for the environment – this is like the worst thing you can do,” he added.
