KAKADU TRIATHLON
More than 165 participants took over the streets of Jabiru at the weekend for the 12th Kakadu Triathlon. A fundraising venture for CareFlight Top End, competitors competed in the following events: Open Triathlon (250m swim, 7.5km bike, 2.5km run), 5km Run Challenge, 2.5km Walk Challenge, and Junior Triathlon (U13).

Men:
1st) John Thyne: First overall, first in age group (29:42 mins)
2nd) Nico Human: Third overall, first in age group (30:44 mins)
3rd) Jack Rowe: Fourth overall, first in age group (32:00 mins)
Women:
1st) Kylie Scholz: Second overall, first in age group (30:04 mins)
2nd) Sophie Radford: Ninth overall, first in age group (33:46 mins)
3rd) Sophie Hill: Thirteenth overall, first in age group (34:15 mins)
INDIGENOUS NETBALL CARNIVAL WINNERS
The eighth INC was contested at the weekend with 25 teams battling it out for glory at the Sitzler Netball Centre, Marrara. A massive 70 games were played across the three day carnival across six separate divisions. Us Mob and Mparntwe were the biggest winners, both with two grand final victories while Delirra Stars unfortunately suffered three grand final defeats. Tyson Agius, Kairee Pledger, Baileight O’Connell-Briston and Tanieshia Payne took out the Rising Star Awards while Dylan dos Santos and Nakeesha Miniter were crowned the senior MVP’s.

GC’S SCHOOL CLINICS
Players from the visiting Gold Coast Suns went on a school clinic blitz Monday 12, visiting six schools throughout the school day. Players held hour-long sessions at St Johns, Nightcliff, Alawa, Casuarina, Stuart Park and Henbury that saw roughly 100 students attend. The Suns will take on the Hawthorn Hawks this Thursday, May 15 at TIO for Round 10.
SUPERUTES
Rossi ‘The Territorian’ Johnson was in action at the weekend down in Tasmania during the Super 440. Back behind the wheel of his Holden Colorado, Johnson put together a solid set of races earning the following results: Race 1, 12th – Race 2, 13th – Race 3, 6th – Race 4, 6th. Johnson currently sits sixth (out of 24) on the overall championship ladder with 348 points. The Territorian will take to the track for Round 3 over the series in Perth at the 440 next month.

RETURN OF CARU
Rugby Union is back in the red centre after a year long hiatus with the CARU officially underway. At the weekend, for round 1 of the 2025 campaign, more than 150 spectators and 61 players descended on ANZAC Oval. The matches were 7s and saw the Devils down the Eagles 22-7 while the Dingo Cubs defeated the Kiwi Warriors in a close 17-10 affair.
JAZZMIN FORWOOD’S MILESTONE
The footballer laced up the boots for her 100th cap in the blue and white at the weekend during Hellenic’s Challenge Cup clash with Verdi FC. The former collegiate player has played for HAC across many seasons, with her club describing her as, “tough, classy, relentless and the type of player opponents dread lining up against.”
NEPALESE INTERNATIONAL
FNT club Darwin Olympic officially announced the signing of Nepal international Abhishek Rijal earlier this week. The 25-year old has been signed to play in the MPL side for the rest of the 2025 season. With 11 international caps, the striker currently plays for I-League outfit Aizawl in India.
NT BMX RIDERS IMPRESS AT NATIONAL SERIES OPENER
A team of Territory riders kicked off their 2025 season in impressive fashion at the AusCycling BMX Racing National Series Rounds 1 and 2, a fortnight ago in Shepparton, Victoria.

NIGHTCLIFF ALUM SIGNS WITH SACA
Douwtjie (Dokey) Hoogenboezem has signed with the South Australian for the upcoming 2025/26 season. The South African born batsmen has been in red-hot form in the past 24 months, amassing 1279 total runs last season across all formats and was the second-highest run scorer in the DDCC dor season 2023, in which scored 720 runs at an average of 80.
