The Northern Territory’s lone Supercars driver Bryce Fullwood has found himself on the podium for the first time in season 2025.

In what has become a happy hunting ground of sorts for the number 14, Fullwood pulled off one of, if not his greatest drive to date in the top flight competition.

Driving in the neon green livery out of the BJR garage, Fullwood had a great early morning qualifying that saw him start near the front of the pack in the 50 lap race at Symmons Plains Raceway in Launceston.

Fullwood was running pretty until he came into a fuel issue with more than 20 laps to go.

The 26 year-old was on the radio with his engineer, stressing he was rapidly running out of fuel.

Fortunately, through some clever driving, Fullwood crossed under the chequered in third place, securing his first podium finish of the season and his third top three finish in his Supercars career.

Fullwood was utterly stoked with the result, but was understandably perplexed at why he had a fuel issue in the first place.

“I had to fuel save for probably 15, 20 laps there,” he said in his post-race interview.

“I didn’t think I was going to get back to pit-lane.

“I was like, ‘why am I fuel saving? This isn’t a fuel race’.

“And, they (team) asked for some pretty impressive numbers on my dash to fuel save, and I had to lift everywhere.

“I’m amazed.”

Fullwood said he and his team didn’t do anything fancy for the weekend regarding setup, just focused on securing top ten finishes after a horror start to the season.

“Honestly, we’ve just bolted in the car from last year,” he said.

“It is very much the same.

“The track is so tight here, it’s (just up to) me making sure I do a really good job.

“We’ve had so much stuff go wrong that you can’t control, just bad luck.

“I didn’t expect to come here and get a trophy but I’m bloody stoked with that.”
