Reece Walsh has made one lucky little Broncos fan’s day after he was chosen from thousands of other supporters to receive a special gift.
Mac Byrnes was among a huge crowd at gathered at Toowoomba’s Clive Berghofer Stadium on Saturday for the Broncos’ community day.
In the middle of all the action, Walsh, 22, kicked off his footy boots, signed them and then handed them to the thrilled six-year-old.
“It was a big crowd for Toowoomba and there were lots and lots of kids – more kids than adults,” Mac’s mum Danica Byrnes said.
“He just got chosen waiting at the end and he was lucky enough to receive them, so he’s a lucky boy.”
After a brief chat the 22-year-old NRL star was off again leaving the Byrnes family in awe – and also scratching their heads about how best to display their one-of-a-kind piece of Broncos merch.
“It was exciting – he’s a lovely guy – we got a photo and now we just have to find a place to put them,” Ms Byrnes said.
