Woman rushed to hospital after 5m fall at Sydney Airport
A female Qantas worker has been rushed to hospital after falling from a height of about 5m at a major airport.
A woman has been rushed to hospital with head injuries after falling about 5m from an aerobridge at Sydney Airport.
Paramedics arrived at the domestic terminal at about 12.30pm on Saturday, and were joined by a specialist medical team.
A spokesman for Ambulance NSW said the woman was suffering head injuries and had been taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
The woman works for Qantas in their customer service team.
“Our focus is on supporting them at this time,” a spokesman for the airline said.
“Sydney Airport and Qantas will be assisting Safe Work NSW with their investigation.”
A spokeswoman for Sydney Airport said the woman had fallen “from an aerobridge in the T3 Domestic Terminal”.
“They were attended to by first-aid responders and transferred by ambulance to hospital for further treatment,” she said.
“Safe Work NSW has also been notified,” she said.
“Our focus is on the welfare of the injured staff member and assisting Safe Work NSW with their inquiries.
