Woman arrested, man seriously injured after stabbing at Fairfield unit block
Police have arrested a woman after a man in his 40s was stabbed and seriously injured at a unit complex on Monday.
A woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed and critically injured in Sydney’s southwest on Monday.
The incident happened at a block of flats in the suburb of Fairfield about 11.30am.
A 46-year-old man was taken to hospital in a critical condition, suffering the effects of multiple stab wounds.
A woman known to the man, 20, took herself to the Fairfield police station.
“She was placed under arrest and is assisting with inquiries,” a police spokesperson said.
“The man and woman are known to one another.”
Police were called to a block of units on Harris St about 11.45am on Monday.
Multiple reports had been made about a stabbing.
The male victim was taken to Liverpool Hospital. He was in a serious but stable condition, the spokesperson said.
Fairfield police have set up a crime scene.
The 20-year-old woman “attended” the police station a short time later, the spokesperson said.
