A third man has been charged with murder following the death of two people in Melbourne’s south last year.

Police were called to a home on Parson St at Rye on the Mornington Peninsula just before 4am on December 2 last year, following reports of an alleged altercation.

Jack Gilmour, 29, and Mornington woman Charlyze Hayter, 19, were both found with gunshot wounds and died at the scene, according to police.

It is understood Mr Gilmour lived at the home and was known to police.

It will be alleged Ms Hayter went to the home with another man and got involved in an altercations with its residents.

Victoria Police say all those involved were known to one another.

He is expected to appear in front of the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

The other two men will next face court in May.
