Teens as young as 13 allegedly stole seven guns, two cars in NSW’s northeast

Clothes and a knife were seized for forensic examination following an alleged break in where a group of teenagers allegedly stole guns and cars.

A group of teenagers allegedly stole two cars and seven guns from a home in NSW’s northeast.

Police were called to a Tamworth home about 4.30am on Saturday following reports of an alleged break and enter.

Upon arrival officers were told two vehicles and seven firearms were allegedly stolen from the home.

A crime scene warrant was executed at a Robert Street home in Tamworth about 12.15pm on Saturday following investigations.

Clothing, a knife, and seven firearms were found and seized for forensic examination.

A group of teenage boys, including a 13-year-old, 14-year-old and 15-year-old, were arrested at the scene and taken to Tamworth Police Station.

The two younger boys were both charged with aggravated break and enter in company, seven counts of possess unauthorised firearm, seven counts of possess stolen firearm, and be carried in conveyance.

The 14-year-old and 15-year-old were also charged with breach of bail.

The three teens were all refused bail and were set to front a children’s court on Sunday.
