Shocking CCTV reveals break-in at TV news presenter’s home
A TV news reporter has shared the “confronting” experience she had when intruders armed with a tomahawk and a baseball bat broke into her home while she slept.
Chilling CCTV has shown the moment the home of 9News presenter Dominique Loudon and NRL star Martin Lang was broken into, in what she described as a “really confronting” experience.
The couple’s Burleigh residence was the most recent target in a spate of crimes gripping the Gold Coast.
The intruders could be seen on CCTV scoping out other properties on Loudon’s street before setting their sights on her home.
While the couple slept, the two hooded figures armed with a baseball bat and a tomahawk attempted to break in.
Ms Loudon, a weekend sports presenter and soon-to-be mum, said she was shaken by the incident.
“[We were] so creeped out and shocked to see these two men with their faces covered just creeping around the front of our house looking for a way to get in,” Loudon told Nine.
Loudon, who is eight months pregnant, said her husband was “seething” following the incident.
“Martin was very concerned if they did manage to break in how he would have reacted,” Loudon said.
“It was really confronting. I was also thinking, I’m pregnant, I’m having a baby in a month.”
“If they came in, I don’t know how I would protect myself,” she continued.
The weapon-wielding thieves broke into Loudon’s car, ransacked the glove box and console and took off with the sliding remote that opened the electronic front gate to the property.
Queensland Police have reminded residents to be vigilant and to remove any valuables from their cars.
Having now experienced the terror herself, Loudon urged people to “please just be so security conscious at the moment.”
