Human bones found on a remote property near Gympie
A police investigation is under way after bones belonging to an unknown person were found on a remote property near Gympie.
Human remains have been found by members of the public on a remote property.
Queensland Police are investigating after forensic officers confirmed several bones that were discovered at the property in Booubyjan about 90km west of Gympie on Sunday were human.
A police spokesperson said forensic officers would search the area for more remains, which is expected to continue for several days.
It is not know who the bones belong to.
“Police will conduct further forensic examinations to identify the human remains,” the spokesperson said.
“No further information can be released at this time.”
