A gunman is on the run after shooting a man only minutes away from where crowds of young fans eagerly camped for Olivia Rodrigo’s highly-anticipated tour.

A gunman is on the run after shooting another man in the arm in Sydney’s west, mere minutes away from an arena where eager fans of Olivia Rodrigo were camped out for her world tour.

Emergency services were called to an apartment complex on Figtree Drive in Sydney Olympic Park about 3am Friday, where they discovered a 29-year-old man had been shot in the arm.

The man was subsequently treated by NSW Ambulance at the scene before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

The shooting occurred in Sydney Olympic Park, only 1km away from Qudos Bank Arena, where fans of American music superstar Olivia Rodrigo are eagerly camping out ahead of the highly-anticipated second night of her Guts Tour on Friday.

Shortly after the incident, police were called to Dalley St at Lidcombe, where authorities discovered a car on fire.

“Police believe the incident was targeted and inquiries are continuing to establish if the incidents are linked,” a police spokesman said.

A crime scene has been established, with inquiries underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the car, which will be investigated by forensic police.
