Brawl breaks out at Central Station after Sydney FC, Western Sydney Wanderers A-League clash

Chaos broke out at Central Station overnight, with about 25 people involved in a brawl following the A-League Sydney Derby.

Sydney’s A-League rivalry turned violent on Saturday night, with reports of a brawl involving about 25 people at Central Station sparking a police manhunt.

The fight broke out at the southern entrance of the station on Elizabeth Street about 10.50pm on Saturday, with police told two flares had been deployed and the parties may have been from rival sporting teams.

Officers raced to the scene but those involved had left the scene before police arrived.

The shocking scene comes off the back of a hotly contested match between Sydney FC and the Western Sydney Wanderers.

While the Wanderers raced to a 3-1 lead within 48 minutes, and dominated for most of the match, Sydney FC made an incredible last minute comeback to tie the game 3-3.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was in the area with any available phone footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
