2025 Alice Springs show full guide: Fireworks, celebrity saw-off, grand parade and dachshunds
The Alice Springs show is back for another year, with new activities and old favourites making a return. See the FULL GUIDE here.
New rides and old favourites returning are all part of an “unmissable” 2025 iteration of the Alice Springs show.
With doors opening at Blatherskite Park at 9am on Friday July 4, Central Australian Show Society vice-presidents Rachel Jericho and Craig Whan said the team had been hard at work organising this year’s show.
The team are expecting more than 20,000 people through the gates across the next two days, where “everything is unmissable” according to Mr Whan.
“It’s a high percentage of our population coming through the gate,” Ms Jericho said.
The population of Alice Springs and surrounds sits about 28,000.
This year’s show will feature new rides for kids, and new food and trade vendors.
“There’s a lot of free entertainment on the ground as well as the sideshow,” Mr Whan said.
Old favourites are also making a return, with the celebrity saw-off and the dachshund events coming back.
Speaking on Wednesday, Mr Whan said things were looking a touch tight for a flight of chicks coming from Sydney due to wild weather on the east coast.
But Mr Whan said he was confident the chicks would make their flight, and the chicken enclosure would be ready to go.
For Ms Jericho, she said she was looking to her favourite part of the show: catching the sunset over the ranges at the end of the day.
“Watching the sunset over the ranges with the hectic lights and noise in the background – what a better place to be than here,” she said.
“The view from the grounds is spectacular.”
