Highway patrol officers are investigating after a cyclist was killed in Melbourne overnight when he was hit by a van.
Police are investigating a fatal crash after a cyclist was killed in Melbourne when he was hit by a van overnight.
The cyclist was travelling along St Georges Road near Miller Street at Thornbury when he was struck by a white HiAce van shortly after 10.30pm.
Victoria Police said the man, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The driver of the van was not injured and is currently assisting police with inquiries.
“Greensborough Highway Patrol officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are keen to speak to any witnesses,” police said in a statement.
