The owner of the car she kicked gets out and heads her way before a boy exits the car, putting himself between the man and the woman – believed to be his mother.
The man is then shown brushing the boy to the side, apparently more concerned by the damage to his car than the woman, who continues to hurl verbal abuse at him.
The man, shown towering over the pair, is seen telling the woman to get back in the car as the boy also tries to diffuse the situation.
Comments online dissected the incident, with some praising the kid’s bravery.
“That poor kid. You can tell he was terrified, yet he still jumped out to protect her,” one wrote.
“To be honest, him being there might have been the difference between what happened and a very different outcome. The boy needs a pat on the back …” another wrote.
Others said the woman went over the top when kicking the car, with one describing her actions as “f**king disgraceful”.
“This is a sad and entitled woman who put herself and her child in a dangerous situation which she escalated. Thankfully both males had some calmer attitudes,” one person wrote.
“She threw her door open while kicking his car. So it is kind of understandable that he got out thinking she had just damaged his car,” another wrote.
The footage of the incident was filmed in the Melbourne suburb of Heidelberg on Sunday.
According to the witness who filmed the exchange, the woman yelled at the man out her window “for a good while” before they hit the record.
The witness said they had made a report to Crimestoppers.
