IF FLASH leather seats and alloy wheels float your boat, it’s hard to go past the Mahindra mPact XTV 750 S Flexhauler side-by-side vehicle.

These features come standard in the US-made machine, which was the star of the Mahindra stand at the recent Elmore Field Days.

Mahindra Australia’s James Halliwell said the only added options to the display model were the roof and screen.

“Standard is the alloy wheels and nice leather seat, twin LED headlights and tail lights,” he said.

“We call it the Flexhauler because of the hauling back that we have on it, which gives us a volume capacity of 650 litres, which is 40 per cent more than a John Deere.

“The full drop-side tray is fairly unique on the market, and the electro-hydraulic dump control on the dashboard makes it great for shifting gravel.”

The SSV is capable of carrying 544kg in the cargo box, which is 1117mm long, 1625mm wide and 355mm deep, and can tow more than 900kg so it’s the next best thing to a ute.

“For dairy and livestock farmers, you can carry a round hay bale and your tools,” Mr Halliwell said.

The vehicle is 2870mm long and 1600mm wide and weighs 768kg and comes standard with a front and rear hitch. It has 27in ATV tyres on 14in aluminium wheels and can seat three adults in an operating station that’s spacious, although there are others in the market with more leg room.

The 750 has a 747cc petrol engine that propels it to a top speed of 53km/h, and is one of six models in the mPact range.

“Our customers have utes and tractors with diesel on the farm so of course we do a diesel version which is the 1000 Flexhauler with a 1000cc Kohler engine,” Mr Halliwell said.

“But this is our volume seller and the reason is you get all of those standard features for $20,000.”

The mPact XTV 750 S Flexhauler starts at $19,999, which includes a three-year/1500hr warranty, and the roof and screen puts the price up to $21,500.
