Krone’s commitment to its unique slat-elevator baler technology continues with the introduction of its new Comprima CV 150 XC Plus baler-wrapper.

The new Comprima model is an upgrade to the popular CV 150 XC Xtreme baler-wrapper and complements the brand’s new VariPack all-belt baler and established Fortima slat-elevator baler models.

Krone assistant product manager Nathan Thomas said the CV 150 XC Plus had been designed for high performance and to satisfy the requirements of contractors and mid- to large-sized dairy farms.

“The new baler-wrapper has been designed with strong components to successfully combat the most extreme farm conditions,” Mr Thomas said.

Changes to the new machine include a new electric pressure adjustment system that allows the operator to easily adjust bale density from the tractor cabin, as well as new covers, light holders and colour changes to brush up its appearance and bring it into line with other Comprima balers.

Krone has also reduced the overall height of the machine and updated the rear-wrapper design for better, more consistent bale wrapping.

“The Comprima Plus wrapper’s new ultrasound sensor replaces the previous sensor arms to easily identify if the bale is on the wrapping table and a wheel and rubber mat on the bale turner ensure a better turning process,” Mr Thomas said.

“The wrapping table’s deep cradle and big bobbins ensure the bale is consistently rolled during the wrapping cycle in tough conditions.”

The CV 150 XC Plus comes standard with a tandem axle and 600/50 R22.5 tyres and uses Krone’s enclosed on-board hydraulic system for all of its baler-wrapper combination functions.

This system is designed to self-regulate and prevent contamination through its own hydraulic tank, pump, filters and valves, which not only allows the operator to run the machine without making tractor flow adjustments but is claimed to improve reliability.

The Krone Comprima CV 150 XC Plus baler-wrapper is available now, starting from $163,500 (+ GST).
