Farmall 25SC tractor unveiled in Australia at AgQuip 2023

The latest addition to Case IH’s famous low-horsepower line-up is the smallest in its stable.

The Farmall 25SC will be the smallest in Case IH’s Farmall line-up – now ranging from 25-115hp (18-85kW).

Small, but packing a punch – that’s the essence of the new Farmall sub-compact tractor launched late last month into the Australian market.

The Farmall 25SC was unveiled to the public during AgQuip at Gunnedah, taking pride of place in the Case IH marquee as another high point in the manufacturer’s 100th anniversary celebrations.

The model will be the smallest in Case IH’s Farmall line-up – now ranging from 25-115hp (18-85kW) – designed to fill a niche within the growing lifestyle segment of the agricultural machinery market.

Case IH Australia-NZ product manager for mid-horsepower and compact tractors Seamus McCarthy said the 25SC followed on from its predecessor, the current model 25B, but offered greater versatility for buyers.

“This market segment has always been an important one in Australia and New Zealand, but the significance of this release is the suite of attachments the 25SC offers,” he said.

“Customers can now get the mower deck, 4-in-1 bucket, backhoe and front-end loader straight from the factory, which means the machine offers a much more price-competitive package.

“We see our target customers as homeowners on small acreages looking at mowing and moving dirt or bark, lifestyle buyers growing a bit of crop or raising a few animals, landscapers and local government workers involved in grounds maintenance.

“The lifestyle market is probably one of the most consistent areas we have, with other segments more subject to peaks and troughs affected by economic factors and commodity pricing.

“It’s a big market and Case IH believes it can have a serious impact with this new release.”

The Farmall 25SC is powered by a 24.7hp three-cylinder Stage V diesel engine.

Manufactured in South Korea, the new models are powered by a naturally aspirated 24.7hp, three-cylinder, Stage V diesel engine, coupled to a two-range hydrostatic transmission with push-button cruise control and two-pedal direct control for forward and reverse.

It comes standard with four-wheel-drive, differential lock, hydrostatic power steering and wet brakes to ensure it has key driver comforts associated with larger Case IH tractors.

“The best features of the machine include the true flat deck, which does away with the safety and comfort issues associated with that hump in the middle, and our push-button cruise control in place of other makes’ mechanical lever,” Mr McCarthy said.

“The 1.26-litre Yanmar clean-burn diesel engine features reverse air flow to keep the operator cool and reduce the build-up of grass clippings around the engine compartment, while the driver platform has a reversible operating seat, rubber floor mat, cup holder, storage tray and 12V power socket.

“There’s a 25-litre fuel tank and the 2.4m turning radius makes the tractor extremely versatile when working.”

Sales demand for tractors has eased since the end of the 2022-23 financial year, with predictions of prices plateauing this year.
