TEN minutes is all it takes to have a free health-check at the Sungold Field Days.
TEN minutes is all it takes to have a free health-check at Sungold.
Staff from Terang Mortlake Health and Timboon District Health will be running a walk-in service from 10am to 2pm on February 7 and 8.
South West Primary Health Care’s Abbie Cameron said the checks were designed to be quick and easy.
“People are the most important assets to a farm business,” Ms Cameron said. “Often a barrier for farmers is actually getting to a healthcare service clinic, so we are coming to them.
“This is an easy way for them to start a conversation about their health. They will walk away with their results and be provided with options and places to go locally if they need further information.”
The checks will include blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes screening, and be available in the Agriculture Victoria tent, at site G2-G3.
The tent, themed Dairy Farmer Central, will be a one-stop shop where dairy farmers can find business management and wellbeing support.
Two dairy community support workers will be on site to offer outreach services and animal health staff will offer advice about animal welfare and sheep eID tags.
