VISITORS from across Victoria descended on southwest Merino studs at the weekend.
The nine studs who opened their gates as part of the Southern Victorian Merino Field Days reported a successful day with a "steady stream" of visitors.
Field day president Pat Millear, who welcome visitors to his property Stud Park South, at Willaura, said all studs had "solid inquiry" and good numbers of clients looking at their sheep.
Mr Millear said they would have more of an idea how successful the day had been once the on-property sales were completed.
Stavely Park Merino stud, at Stavely had a solid sale, with all 60 rams selling for an average of $1500 today.
